eBay RAVEN EYE CUSTOM TAKEDOWN SCREW KIT A fine upgrade for the Ruger 10/22 ! Adds a custom look to aftermarket or factory stocks. Fits all brands including Boyd’s, Revolution, Fajen, Bell and Carlson, as well as many others. Machined in the USA! Not an import! The kit includes the following: Contents: 1 Stainless steel takedown screw 1 Hex wrench 3 Vibration dampening rings 2 22LR snap caps Instructions for removal of old screw and installation of new Compare to other listings. I have included many extras that I have learned are very useful for 10/22 owners. Our company only sells parts for the 10/22, and we know it very well! The vibration dampening rings can help prevent compression of the stock by reducing accuracy affecting pressures on the action and barrel. You only use one at a time, but I know these can wear out over time, so I have included several. The snap caps are essential for safety, for diagnosing testing feeding, loading, or trigger problems. They are not ammunition, but you can “dry fire” with them safely. DID YOU KNOW THAT DRY FIRING A RIMFIRE (WITHOUT SNAP CAPS) DAMAGES THE FIRING PIN AND BOLT HEAD? This can leads to unsafe ignition problems. Why is a hex socket takedown screw one of the most common upgrades for the Ruger 10/22? Þ The deep hex socket allows for more consistent torque Þ Factory takedown screws require a flat head screwdriver which often slips and can damage the stock. Hex sockets do not slip. Þ Vibration dampening rings allow for individual customization of fit (use optional) Þ Stainless steel will not corrode or pit Þ Compliments aftermarket stocks How is the Raven Eye Custom Takedown Screws Kit different from the others available? Þ The Raven Eye Custom product is a “Kit”, not just a screw. It includes many extras that are not included in the other brands such as the vibration dampening rings and the snap caps. Þ The takedown screws are custom machined in the USA, not imported Þ The length of the screw has been maximized to provide the most stability while preventing contact between the barrel and the takedown screw. Other vendors offer a T-handle hex driver together with their takedown screw. I considered offering one, and here is the reasons that I included a basic hex wrench instead: Reason #1: The T-handle and a simple hex wrench will do the same job of providing a consistent torque to the takedown screw. Reason #2: In order to include a T-handle wrench in my kits, I would need to raise the price of the kit. Instead of raising the price, I reasoned it is better to let the consumer decide if they want the fancy wrench which they can buy on their own for about $1.25.
